I think of myself first as an artist. That I've been able to try my hand and heart in many creative areas is a blessing, but my essence comes back to being a visual artist who draws and paints to capture the beauty around me, especially nature.

Having put my art supplies away for several years while I concentrated on music as my expressive outlet, I began again with great joy. Influenced by the impressionists and the Hudson River School, I gravitate toward landscape in my subjects and love to see the effects of natural lighting. Being able to take the photographs on which to base future paintings gives me an endless archive of inspiration.
