My career as an interior designer and space planner began in 1980 as the Visual Merchandising Manager for Macy's Colonie. By 1984 I was working for an office furniture dealership where I developed the design division and rose to vice president. Forming DeLaCruz Design Group in 1984, the successful commercial interiors and space planning firm was sold in 1995 so I could concentrate on music. I have continued to work as a design consultant with now over 25 years experience, and as a licensed New York State Certified Interior Designer, specialize in contract projects and the hospitality industry. In 2006, one of my hotel projects received a design award for Best New Construction from LaQuinta for Latham LaQuinta Inn & Suites. Having successfully completed the LEED CI exam, as a LEED Accredited Professional and member of the US Green Building Council. I strive to include sustainable materials and construction methods in projects.
